National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. The event takes place on the first Tuesday evening in August at the Town Square. This year's event took place on August 2nd, and we are deeply grateful to all the local merchants and volunteers who helped make the evening a resounding success!
The Bainbridge Island Police Department participates in National Night Out each year, and invites you to attend. The family-friendly event is completely free and includes food and activities for all ages. Highlights include crime prevention materials for parents, educational games about safety for kids, and impressive equipment displays including a police car, ambulance, fire vehicle, police boat, and much more. It's also a great opportunity for you and your family to meet the Bainbridge Island police officers that serve you.
Support for National Night Out is provided by local merchants and non-profit organizations. If you cannot attend, you can still show your support by leaving your front porch light on, which is a hallmark of the event.
