Kirsten Hytopoulos began her service on the Bainbridge Island City Council in January of 2010. Since first moving to the island in 2002, Ms. Hytopoulos has been a strong advocate for a number of Island issues including environmental protection, effective and responsive city government and preservation of Bainbridge Island’s unique character and way of life. Prior to her election in 2009, her community-based work included serving as a neighborhood representative during the creation of the South Island Sewer LID, founding and moderating Green Voices for Bainbridge Island and serving as a spokesperson for the campaign to adopt the Council-Manager form of government.
Kirsten received her law degree in 1996 from the University of Arizona College of Law after completing her undergraduate degree in Political Science. Her professional experience includes working as a prosecuting attorney and teaching criminal justice.
