Description: The Shoreline Management Master Program (SMP) establishes policies and regulations for the shorelines of Bainbridge Island. The SMP is published in two versions. The version that is provided on this web page is a copy of the complete official version. The regulations (a subset of the entire SMP) are published in Chapter 16.12 of the
Bainbridge Island Municipal Code. Shoreline designations are mapped on the City’s official Comprehensive Plan map. The City is required by state law to update the SMP by December 1, 2011. One goal of the State Shoreline Management Act is public access to the shoreline. You can explore the Bainbridge Island shoreline by using the
Shoreline Access Guidebook.
