Steve Bonkowski retired from Northrop Grumman Corporation as a Vice President. He spent the last 6 years reorganizing and consolidating various elements within the company in California, New York and Illinois, improving efficiencies and reducing costs. Prior to that he was in Program management and marketing with Northrop Grumman. Steve Bonkowski served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Interior for executive oversight of his department and was responsible for off shore oil exploration and drilling policy. Before Northrop Grumman, he spent three years with the Department of Navy designing advance missile guidance systems.
Steve graduated with a B.S. in Physics from Harvey Mudd College, a M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from USC, and has Graduate studies in Economics from Claremont Graduate School and Management at University of California at Irvine. He and his wife Marilyn are true islanders.They have lived on Long Island in New York , the Hawaiian islands, and Balboa Island in California. They fell in love with the Northwest and bought their first home here on Bainbridge Island in 2001. They have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
